About Us

Welcome to Healing Multi Academy Trust

We have nine schools, a teaching school and a school-centred initial teacher training (SCITT), with responsibility for almost 4,400 pupils and 700 staff.

Background

Healing Multi-Academy Trust was set up in 2014, initially with two schools from the village of Healing in North East Lincolnshire.  Since then the Trust has grown with care and now comprises nine schools, a Teaching School and a School Centred Initial Teacher Training Centre (SCITT).

The Trust now has schools in two geographical hubs with one 11 to 16 secondary school, three primary schools and one junior school in the Grimsby area and one 11 to 18 secondary school and three primary schools in Lincoln.

Governance

The Trust Board was formally designated in 2016, following a period of transition from a combined Local Governing Body and Trust Board.  The Trustees have all been recruited to a designated skill set.  A Local Governing Body works with each school and has either a ‘full’ or ‘partial’ scheme of delegation.

Earned autonomy

Healing Multi Academy Trust believes that best results will be achieved when each school’s Local Governing Body receives a level of responsibility and autonomy appropriate to its specific circumstances.

Where the school needs to improve standards, there will be close supervision of the school by the Trust Executive Team. We strive to support all our schools to provide a good standard of education where minimal day-to-day supervision by the Trust is needed and the Local Governing Body will operate with maximum autonomy.
